Panelists:

Greg Batsevitsky

With over 30 years of banking experience, Greg is a key member of the Massachusetts market leadership team for M&T Bank, a financial institution with over $200 billion in assets.  Greg manages a group of Middle Market bankers responsible for building, growing, and servicing a portfolio of commercial banking clients in the Eastern Massachusetts market. Greg is an expert in debt capital markets and complex financing solutions including optimal capital structures, growth capital, and mergers and acquisitions.  He is also well versed in treasury management and wealth management strategies.  Greg is focused on helping clients in middle-market, as well as in industry specialties including food and beverage, convenience store and gas, home heating fuel, and technology to identify and capitalize on emerging market trends and to drive performance and profitability.  Prior to his current position, Greg worked in various corporate banking functions at People’s United Bank, Santander, Sovereign, and Fleet Bank, serving middle-market, asset-based, healthcare, and private equity clients.  Greg is active in the community serving on the corporate boards of HumanGood, Associated Industries of Massachusetts, The Risk Management Association, and the Financial Executive Institute.

Janytra Brooks
Chief Human Resources Officer

Ms. Brooks joined the Company as its Vice President, Human Resources Manager in 2018 and became the Company Chief Human Resources Officer on October 1, 2020. From 2016 to 2018, Ms. Brooks served as Human Resources Manager for Global Capacity, a connectivity as a service company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2016, Ms. Brooks served as Director, Human Resources for Goji, an online car insurance purchasing platform. Prior to her time at Goji, Ms. Brooks served in various Human Resources roles in the technology and health care industries. Ms. Brooks received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hartford, a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University, Boston's Future Leaders Certificate, and is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. Brooks is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Northeast Human Resources Association.

Juna Pierre
Vice President, HR Operations Manager

Juna (pronounced Gina) Pierre is a Human Resources leader with 20 years of experience focused on HR operations, business partnership, compliance, employee engagement, employee relations, diversity equity and inclusion, recruitment, organizational realignment, talent management, and training. Juna has worked in the financial services, public health, education, and defense industries.
 
In 2016, Juna launched Delino HR Consulting to provide Human Resources support to school districts and municipalities by conducting investigations, facilitating trainings and mediations, and writing and updating policies. In 2018, Juna became the Founding President of the New England chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR New England). Her work with the Chapter allowed Juna to combine her background in HR and her passion for ensuring the HR function reflects the diversity of the employees we support. In February 2019, Juna was featured on the Hennessy Report, a podcast for leaders in the HR industry.
 
Juna holds a bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University, a masters from Emmanuel College, and she is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute and Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management. Juna is an alum of The Partnership Inc. Fellow program.
 
Juna lives on the south shore with her husband, Eddy, and their two children, Elijah and Sophia.

Carolyn Normand
Chief Credit Officer
South Shore Bank


Carolyn has been in the banking industry for over 20 years and is currently responsible for overseeing credit risk and administration for the Bank. Prior to joining South Shore Bank, she was a Senior Credit Officer for People’s United Bank. She also previously worked at Rockland Trust as the Credit Manager/Credit Officer and has held other various credit and underwriting positions at Santander and Wells Fargo.
 
Carolyn currently serves as President of the RMA New England Chapter and part of several committees focused on community banking, credit risk, and education.  She is one of two instructors for the Massachusetts Bankers Association Credit Apprenticeship Program where she also provides mentoring and coaching for Credit Apprentices. Carolyn facilitates training on construction, real estate, and commercial lending as an adjunct credit trainer, guest lecturer, panelist, and keynote speaker. She was awarded Mass Bankers Achievement Award for 2024.  
 
Carolyn graduated with her accounting degree from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and earned her master’s degree in business ethics and compliance from the New England College of Business and Finance. She holds a Certificate in Women’s Leadership from Cornell University and has a 2025 anticipated graduation date from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking where she will also earn a Leadership Certificate from Wharton at University of Pennsylvania.  
 
Carolyn serves on the Board and Finance Committee for Family and Community Resources in Brockton, MA advocating for victims of domestic violence, and a member of the Business Advisory Board for Bridgewater State University. She is also a volunteer for many organizations on the South Shore including the Weymouth Food Bank, Cardinal Cushing Center, and My Brothers Keeper, among others.  Carolyn resides in Plymouth, MA with her husband, Paul, and parrot, Marley.
